Carrier Wins Two Top Project of the Year Awards at 2025 Environment + Energy Leader Awards
Recognized for Energy Innovation and Software Implementation for Driving Energy Efficiency and Sustainability
KENNESAW, Ga., Apr. 7, 2025 - Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, was honored with two Top Project of the Year Awards in the Energy Innovation and Software Implementation categories for its Abound solutions in the 2025 Environment + Energy Leader Awards. This recognition underscores Carrier’s commitment to advancing sustainability across retail stores through AI and IoT enabled solutions.
“We are honored to receive these prestigious awards, which validate our innovative approach and commitment to supporting our customers in meeting their business objectives including improved operational efficiency of their real estate portfolio,” said Yasir Qureshi, Managing Director, Carrier Abound and Digital Solutions. “This recognition highlights our ability to collaborate with customers, understand their unique challenges and deliver measurable results that reduce costs and optimize performance. We thank the judges for this recognition and our customers for their trust in us.”
In the Energy Innovation category, Carrier Abound was recognized for enhancing energy efficiency for a leading athletic footwear and sports retailer across the U.S. By implementing an AI and IoT driven initiative across 400 stores – including retrofits and new store openings – Carrier Abound automated store operations and transitioned the retailer to a digital platform. Additionally, it leveraged predictive insights to optimize energy usage. The project delivered over 15% in energy savings1 while resolving 78% of the HVAC issues remotely, significantly reducing field visits and associated GHG emissions.
The Software Implementation award recognized Carrier Abound for helping to improve the energy efficiency of a major U.S. discount retail chain. Launched in 2019, the project includes over 2,100 stores and helped save the retailer over 145 million kWh of energy1. The project enabled the resolution of 45% of work orders remotely, which helped reduce truck rolls that occur when a technician is dispatched for an issue, and saved the retailer an estimated $6.9 million2.
