K-12 School Improves Indoor Air Quality with Carrier’s Abound IoT Platform

The Challenge

Metro Atlanta’s Cherokee County School District (CCSD) was looking to improve air quality and environmental conditions, while providing students, teachers, and staff with real-time visibility into the air quality data in K-12 classrooms.

The Implementation

CCSD partnered with Carrier to implement the Abound™ platform in two administrative buildings covering 37,000 square feet. The platform integrates directly with their Automated Logic® WebCTRL® building automation system (BAS) to retrieve temperature, humidity, and indoor air quality data and display it on the Abound dashboard.

The Results

With Abound in place, CCSD students, teachers, and staff now have real-time visibility into the health of their indoor spaces. A live health score comparing IAQ data to the WELL Building Standard™ is displayed on a dashboard in the building’s lobby. Building operators use this data to make quick assessments and confident decisions that optimize the comfort and health of their indoor spaces—resulting in fewer complaints.

"Implementing Abound in the Cherokee County School District has improved the facility staff and administration’s ability to understand and manage the health and safety of our buildings."
